FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Purdue Fort Wayne (2-6) baseball team will step out of league play this week to travel to Butler (1-0) to face the Bulldogs.

The 'Dons are led offensively by Justin Greene's .346 average and Aaron Chapman's .303 mark. Garett Lake enters the weekend having reached base in five straight games. Starting pitcher Cameron Boyd has 15 strikeouts and only two walks in 11.0 innings.
Scouting the Bulldogs (1-0): Butler opened the season on Wednesday with a non-league win over DePauw by the score of 16-4. The Bulldogs scored three runs in the first inning and 13 in the fourth inning. Dan Harwood had three hits and three RBIs in the game. Freddie Matos knocked in four runs. John McCauley threw four scoreless innings to get the victory. Butler doesn't open BIG EAST play until April 9 Seton Hall.
Series History: The 'Dons and Bulldogs played each season from 2000 to 2019. Butler has had the better of the series lately, winning five straight. The last time the two teams played in 2019 the series was moved to Northern Kentucky's campus due to unplayable conditions at Butler.
