FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Purdue Fort Wayne (2-6) baseball team will step out of league play this week to travel to Butler (1-0) to face the Bulldogs.

Scouting the Bulldogs (1-0): Butler opened the season on Wednesday with a non-league win over DePauw by the score of 16-4. The Bulldogs scored three runs in the first inning and 13 in the fourth inning. Dan Harwood had three hits and three RBIs in the game. Freddie Matos knocked in four runs. John McCauley threw four scoreless innings to get the victory. Butler doesn't open BIG EAST play until April 9 Seton Hall.
