Jonas Morris Caps GVSU Big Meet

ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Purdue Fort Wayne men's track and field team had a number of strong showings at the GVSU Big Meet (Feb. 15).
Jonas Morris ran a 21.72 200 meter dash to earn eighth at GVSU. The time would take the fifth place mark in Horizon League standings, however Morris' mark of 21.56 at the Brant Tolsma Invitational (Jan. 23) currently holds second.
Senior Zyler Johnson threw for 15.18 meters in shot put, earning him seventh in the league standings and in Michigan. The Georgia native also threw a mark of 15.82 meters in the weight throw to take 11th. This distance would place seventh in the HL, however he holds the fourth spot with a 16.24 meter throw at the Meyo Invitational (Jan. 31). Brevin Miller notched his name into league standings with a 14.77 meter mark in shot put, ninth in both the HL and at the meet.
Indiana native Austin Hall completed the 5000 meters in a personal record time of 14:24.44, taking third place. This time ranks sixth in the Horizon League.
Freshman Boden Genovese ran a personal record 4:10.65 mile to sit eighth in the league. This time took 11th at the Big Meet.
The DMR team of Harrison Niswander, Kobe Milledge, Genovese and Nicholas Mills will compete in the second day of events at the Big Meet (Feb. 15).
