ROCHESTER, Mich. – Caleb Fenimore went 3-for-4 from the plate, and Steve Danielak picked up his fifth save of the season as the IPFW baseball team defeated Oakland on Friday afternoon by the final score of 6-3.
The 'Dons scored two runs in the third, one in the sixth, and three in the eighth to record their 11th win of the season. They are now 3-2 in Summit League action.
Chuck Weaver picked up the win on the hill for the Mastodons. Weaver threw six full innings and struck out four. He limited the Golden Grizzlies to just two hits and one earned run. Danielak threw the final three innings of the game for the save. He struck out three to secure the win for IPFW.
Kristian Gayday and Daren Boss each picked up two RBI's against Oakland. Clay Hathaway, Malcolm White, Shane Trevino, Cody O'Neal and Markus Kalber also got into the action as the Mastodons ended the game with 10 hits.
These two teams will face-off in a doubleheader tomorrow at OU Baseball Field. First pitch will be at noon on Saturday.
