FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW men's tennis team opens its 2014 season at the Northern Kentucky Invitational.

LAST YEAR
Last season at the Northern Kentucky Invitational, three Mastodons, Gerard Guell, Martin Muadi, and Jonathan Raa each went a perfect 3-0, while two others - Andres Cobos and Karl Wangensten-Oye - each went 2-1. As a team, the Mastodons won 78.9 percent of their singles matches (15-4), while going 6-1 (85.7%) in doubles play. Cobos and Daniel Kang went 2-0, as did the pair of Raa and Wangensten-Oye, with Connor Andrews and Muadi went 2-1 in pairs.
ABOUT THE MASTODONS
Last season the Mastodons had four individuals with at least 20 wins, and a fifth - Cobos - with 19. Guell led the team with a program-record 27 wins (27-10), while Muadi was 26-11. Recent graduate Daniel Kang ended the year with 24 while Wangensten-Oye added 20 victories.
In doubles play, Cobos and Kang went 25-11 overall, including going 19-8 at No. 1 doubles, while Guell and Muadi went 15-10, 15-7 at No. 2 pairs.
