Men's Tennis Hosts Pair Leading Up to Summit Championships

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW men's tennis team closes the 2015 non-conference season over the weekend when the squad hosts eighth and ninth straight home matches when the squad faces off against Western Illinois and South Dakota State.
SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
The Mastodons are sitting one game over .500 for the season, with a 2-2 mark in Summit League play, and have won five of their last seven matches.
Leading the charge in singles this season has been sophomore Karl Wangensten-Oye, who is 25-7 overall in singles, including a 16-5 mark during the spring season. Andres Cobos is 20-15 overall, while Martin Muadi and Daniel Cardenas each have 18 victories. Gerard Guell has 14 singles wins as Carlos do Val and Jonathan Raa each have eight.
Guell and Muadi lead the team with 16 wins, including an 8-8 mark at No. 1 pairs, while Cardenas and Cobos have teamed up for a 12-3 record at No. 2 doubles during the spring.
RECORDS WATCH
Over the past weekend, Andres Cobos became the program's all-time wins record holder, passing former teammate Daniel Kang, as Cobos now has 130 total wins. Cobos also sits just one doubles win away from tying the career mark in that category, which would give current Mastodon tennis players all three wins records.

SCOUTING THE LEATHERNECKS
Western Illinois comes into the match having lost 27 of its last 28 matches dating back to last season, and are looking for its first win of the 2015 spring season.
In singles play the Leathernecks are a combined 4-86 (4.4 percent). Nikola Pavlovic has a team-best three wins on the season, as Christoph Haertel has the team's other win, and is 1-3 at No. 1 singles.
Pavlovic and Surya Sawhney is the only doubles team with a win this season, and is 1-6 at No. 1 pairs.

South Dakota State comes into each teams' regular season finale with a 13-8 record and an even 2-2 mark in Summit League play.,
Two players - Lovro Curcija and Parker Lawley - have identical 12-7 records on the year Lawley 8-5 at No. 3 singles and Curcija 6-5 at No. 4. Andrea Boglic is 7-10 on the year, 5-10 at No. 1, while Mateus Moreira ,is just off of the double-figure win total with nine.
Boglic and Lawley are a combined 14-4 at No. 1 doubles, with the Jackrabbits being .500 or better on the season at all three of the doubles position.
