Two School Records Fall at Meyo Invitational

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne men's track & field program set two school records in the final day of the Meyo Invitational (Feb. 1), hosted by Notre Dame.
The men's 4x400 meter relay team broke the school record in the final event of the meet. Jonas Morris, Ambrose English, Cainen Northington and Noah Morris took second in the event with a time of 3:16.11.
Ezra Lewellen beat out the competition with a time of 6.72 in the 60 meter dash final, breaking the record of 6.73 he set last year. Lewellen also took first in the 60 meter dash preliminary round, running a 6.77. Jaylin Springer ran a time of 7.13 in the preliminaries, placing 14th.
Three 'Dons finished top-10 in the weight throw. Zyler Johnson threw the furthest mark of Purdue Fort Wayne entrees (16.24 meters) and took sixth. Owen Kaufman earned eighth with a throw of 15.50 meters. Hunter Crew finished just behind Kaufman with his toss of 15.11 meters. Freshman Josiah Bird threw a mark of 14.58 meters and finished in 13th.
Nicholas Mills ran a personal record time in the mile (4:14.02) to be the first Mastodon to finish the event (25th). Boden Genovese completed his first collegiate mile with a time of 4:16.68, placing 28th. Harrison Niswander finished in 31st with a time of 4:18.81.
Cainen Northington ran a personal record 400 meter dash as the lone Mastodon in the event. Northington's time of 50.75 earned him 12th.
Sam Dunnett finished his first collegiate 800 meters, running a time of 1:56.62 to finish 30th. Kobe Milledge completed the event in 22nd with a time of 1:55.92.
Austin Hall and Nathan Mills competed in the 3000 meters. Hall finished in 23rd with a time of 8:31.56. Mills ran a 8:54.98 to earn 31st.
The Mastodons will head to the Indianapolis Fairgrounds on February 8 to compete in the Fairgrounds Invitational.
